Dear Friends

God offers to you and he offers to me the Kingdom. Freely. All we have to do is stretch out our hands and take it: it is ours. God offers to each one of us freedom and life.

And we look him in the face as he offers all we could possibly desire and we ask instead for money, or a job, or a house, or a spouse. We reject the gift and ask for our reward here and now. The Almighty God comes to offer everything, and we ask for something which will fade away in return.

My dear brothers and sisters, friends, we can accept the Lord’s gift at any time; yet in coming together for worship we are able to join ourselves to that gift in a unique way, we can receive the gift even physically and let it transform us. This Sunday, and every Sunday, the Church invites you to receive the gift of God and make it your own. Accept this invitation and the gift that you be worthy heirs and participators in the heavenly Kingdom.
