Our priorities

Dear Friends

September, even in our modern world, is a time for returning to our regular pattern. For many who have driven through the countryside in the last weeks, we have seen the farmers have gathered in the harvest; now children return to school and we prepare ourselves for the autumn which leads inevitably to winter—we return to our usual patterns, our usual life.

Happy New Year!

From ancient times, the Church has appointed September to be the beginning of her year. In many ways, it is a better time to see a transition rather than January where winter is still biting and the first signs of spring some time away. September gives us a chance to evaluate where we are and where we want to be—who do I want to be as a person? What are my priorities?

We have some changes in our community. We will now serve Vespers at 6.30 pm on Saturdays in St Francis’ Hall. Vespers is a beautiful service where we hear much of the theology of the Church and are invited to deepen our faith; it brings us into the life of the Church more fully. The Liturgy is the heart of our faith yet a heart by itself will die, it depends on the other parts of the body to keep its proper function. Attending Vespers can build a body around our faith that it may stay whole and complete in our lives: could this be a priority for you?

Can I help you?

I am here for you, you need only ask. Is there a way I can support your life of faith? Get in touch.

Can you help the mission?

Yes, absolutely. Offer yourselves to the Lord: pray! Make available to him all your talents and ask him how he would like you to use them — listen for his reply.

Your prayers!

With love in Christ
