Getting organised

Dear Friends

Christ is risen!

How easy is it to realise once we’ve started something that there is a better way to do things? Not that our original plan was bad, but that it can be refined and improved upon.

In those days, when the disciples were increasing in number, the Hellenists murmured against the Hebrews because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. And the twelve summoned the body of the disciples and said, “it is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables. Therefore, brethren, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint to this duty. But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” And what they said pleased the whole multitude, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochoros, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolaos, a proselyte of Antioch. These they set before the apostles, and they prayed and laid their hands upon them. And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.

— Acts 6:1–7

We too, here in Eastleigh, must be willing to alter and change things for the sake of all the people. The Community in Jerusalem was able to find seven who could take on extra responsibility and serve the Community—these were brought to the Apostles.

Are you willing to serve our Community? Does the Lord desire that you help build up his new Church in Eastleigh?

Attending Church

We will be meeting at St Francis’ Hall, Nightingale Avenue, Eastleigh, SO50 9JA. You must register beforehand. This is for two reasons, we must limit the number of people in the hall and this will facilitate NHS Track and Trace. We will restrict attendance at any service to 10 families (bubbles) and ask that you stay together in the service. Registration by email to [email protected] (please state to which services you would like to go and the names of those in your family). I will send confirmation of your registration by email: regretfully it is possible some may not be able to attend if we have reached the maximum number.

There will be a signed one-way system, entrance by the car park. You must wear a mask at all times when inside unless you are exempt. We must ask that we do not socialise at all inside in the current regulations, though we may do so outside in groups no larger than 6 (or containing only 2 bubbles). On entry we ask that you sanitise your hands and there will be sanitiser available for your use.

We do not yet have banking facilities. Please do not give cash as a donation nor for candles. When we have the details we will circulate the details and ask that you give by bank transfer or standing order.

Your prayers!

With love in the risen Christ
